- Israeli soldiers at the security fence around the Jewish
settlement of Beit Omar near the West Bank city of Hebron 31 January
2015 as the security forces break up a small Palestinian protest over
Jewish settlement expansion. Israel has issued tenders for the
construction of 430 new West Bank housing units peace activists said a
day earlier just weeks before the country heads to elections.
Palestinians are strongly opposed to settlement construction on the
occupied West Bank and consider the Jewish settlements illegal. The EU
said the settlements would further undermine the viability of the
two-state solution. (Elecciones Protestas)
