Cecilia Paredes 43 holds her one-month-old son Dilan in front of riot policemen after her family was evicted from their apartment in Madrid January 23 2015. Paredes her husband Wilson Ruilova 35 and their sons Andres 16 Miguel 7 and Dilan have been living in the apartment that belongs to the Municipal Housing and Land Company (EMVS) for about four years. The couple are currently jobless and living on a shared total of 341 Euros ($382) in monthly subsidy. Unable to cope with the rent Parades and her husband stopped paying it about two years ago. Their apartment was eventually sold by the EMVS to a private investment company.
