completing their Mission Readiness Evaluation HMAS Success is en-route
to the Middle East Region to begin a six month deployment as part of
Operation MANITOU. HMAS Success will support coalition navy ships in the
Region by providing replenishment at sea vertical replenishment stores
and food transfers. Operation MANITOU is the government's contribution
to maritime security including anti-piracy and anti-terrorism in the
Region

HMAS Sirius has returned to its home port of Fleet Base West
following a six month deployment to the East Coast. During that time the
ship's company has successfully completed a lengthy refit at Fleet Base
East and a Unit Readiness Evaluation. More recently she returned to
Western Australia to participate in the Albany Convoy Commemorative
Event commemorating the centenary since Australian and New Zealand
soldiers departed Australia for World War I. Sirius then provided
support to the Navy and Air Force units tasked with monitoring the
Russian Surface Task Group in the Coral Sea during the G20 Summit. The
ship's company will enjoy some well-earned respite before preparing for a
busy year in 2015.
