SEATTLE (Nov. 20 2014) A P-8A Poseidon aircraft departs Boeing Field in Seattle for Naval Air Station Jacksonville Fla. where it will join other Poseidon aircraft as part of the War Eagles of Patrol Squadron (VP) 16 the Navy's first operational P-8A squadron. This marks the delivery of the 19th long-range maritime patrol aircraft to the Navy. The multi-mission aircraft based on the next-generation Boeing 737-800 platform provides anti-submarine warfare anti-surface warfare intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities and will replace the Navy P-3 Orion fleet. Forest Light brings Japan forces and US Marines together









Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Col. Hiroji Yamasita left and U.S. Marine Maj. Roy M. Fort Worth on a 16-month rotational deployment in support of the Asia-Pacific Rebalance is a fast and agile warship tailor-made to patrol the region's littorals and work hull-to-hull with partner navies providing 7th Fleet area of responsibility with the flexible capabilities it needs now and in the future.
