Australian Defence Force memorial plinths from Camp Holland and Camp
Russell at Multi-National Base�Tarin Kowt Uruzgan province in southern
Afghanistan were unveiled at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra on
13 November 2014.
The Camp Holland and Camp Russell memorial plinths were used for various
ceremonies such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day and special services
held to farewell comrades. The Camp Russell memorial plinth carries the
names of 20 special forces soldiers killed in Afghanistan. The Camp
Holland memorial plinth stood before the Multi-National Base�Tarin Kowt
memorial wall recording the names of the 40 Australian soldiers killed
in action.

Lest we forget.

The first two of Navy�s newest maritime combat helicopter - the
MH60R Seahawk �Romeo� - have arrived at HMAS Albatross in Nowra where
they will begin trials prior to deployment on Anzac class frigates and
the new Hobart class destroyers.
The MH60R is a quantum leap over Navy�s current front-line helicopter
and this next generation submarine hunter and anti-surface warfare
helicopter will be the cornerstone of Navy�s aviation combat capability.

PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 13 2014) An F-35C Lightning II carrier
variant Joint Strike Fighter conducts its first carrier-based night
flight operations aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The
aircraft launched at 6:01 p.m. (PST) and conducted a series of planned
touch-and-go landings before making an arrested landing at 6:40 pm.
Nimitz is hosting the F-35 Lightning II Pax River Integrated Test Force
from Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 23 during the initial sea
